NOTES
To replace "Kau Sing" and serve
as
1) Light-house tender,
Training ship for Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force,
(3) Typhoon rescue tug. It was decided to sell "Kau Sing" instead of repairing her as approved by the Secretary of State in his despatch of 15th January, 1938, as the cost of repairs proved too great. See also His Excellency the Governork address to Council of 13th October, 1938.
Owing to saving of cost of hiring tug for light-house relief there will be savings of $12,000 per
annum.
A training-ship for the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force will also be needed in the immediate future since, inter alia H.M.S. "Conflower" is no longer fit for
use.
